TAMPA — The Bucs have seven selections, including the No. 9 pick, in the 2016 NFL draft to be held Thursday-Saturday in Chicago. Tampa Bay has its own pick in each of the first six rounds. Washington’s sixth-round pick was acquired in a trade for S Dashon Goldson and Tampa Bay’s seventh-round pick. In the week leading up to the draft, The Tampa Tribune examines the team’s needs at one position per day.
DEFENSIVE BACK
Tampa Bay’s unit performed horribly last season, allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete 70 percent of their passes, including 31 touchdowns. The best player in the group is probably CB Brent Grimes, who at 32 is not a long-term solution.
