Tribune staff Tampa Bay Buccaneers right tackle Demar Dotson showed up at practice Thursday for the first since he injured his left knee in the preseason opener Saturday.
Leaning on a pair of metal crutches, Dotson was nothing more than an observer during the two-hour workout. It shouldn’t be too long, though, before he’s participating again.
Dotson said his worst fears were abated when he learned that he did not sustain a torn ACL and is hopeful he’ll be back working on the practice field shortly after the start of the regular season.
“Hopefully I’ll get a chance to be come back out here within six weeks or so,’’ Dotson said.
