TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Louis Murphy is heading to injured reserve, head coach Dirk Koetter confirmed following practice Monday. The team has not made a formal announcement, but Koetter said one would be coming later today.
Murphy, 29, will miss the entire 2016 season due to the ACL injury he suffered last year. He’s the second Bucs wide receiver to go on injured reserve this year, joining Vincent Jackson, who also suffered a knee injury.
Monday was the final day of Murphy’s 21-day practice period after coming off the PUP list, which gave the team three choices: put Murphy on the active roster, place him on injured reserve or release him.
