TAMPA — Less than a day after he missed two field-goal attempts and an extra point try in 37-23 loss, rookie kicker Kyle Brindza has been cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Bucs did not immediately announce a replacement for Brindza, but Bucs general manager Jason Licht said a new kicker will be in place by the time the Bucs return to practice on Wednesday.
Brindza came to the Bucs in a late preseason trade with the Lions, but he has missed six of 12 field goal tries, including five of the last seven, and two of his last three extra points.
