TAMPA — If quarterback Jameis Winston says the Tampa Bay Buccaneers don’t have enough players who care about winning, then they probably don’t.
That was coach Lovie Smith’s assessment of comments Winston made just minutes after the Bucs ended their season with a 38-10 loss to the Panthers in Charlotte on Sunday.
“If he said that, there’s probably a whole lot of truth to it,’’ Smith said Monday at One Buc Place during his final news conference for the 2015 season.
Tampa Bay finished 6-10 — an improvement from 2-14 the previous season — but lost its final four games after being in playoff contention in early December.
