Bucs chip in to help youths with development program

TAMPA — This past Sunday, roughly 80 high school football players and 20 coaches roamed the hallways at One Buc Place, the headquarters and practice facility of the Buccaneers, for a special media-day event sponsored by the team.

The players and coaches sat at a podium normally used by coach Lovie Smith and designated players throughout the season to answer questions from local media.

On this day, they felt like pros.

“Most guys don’t get an opportunity to do this,” said Tampa Bay Tech junior receiver Daquon Green, one of the invited athletes.

“This is a pleasure,” Alonso coach Brian Emmanuel said.
