Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Connor Barth is returning to the team, replacing Kyle Brindza, who was released Monday.
Barth was the winner of a kicking competition held Tuesday at One Buc Place, and will return to the team in time for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville, according to his agent, Robert Roche.
Brindza, while showing a strong leg, had accuracy issues. He kicked the second-longest field goal in team history when he hit from 58 yards against the Texans two weeks ago, but followed that by missing five of six field-goal tries and two of four extra-point attempts.
