TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Alterraun Verner will play in Sunday’s home game against the Seattle Seahawks under some very difficult circumstances.
On Friday morning, his father, Robert Lee Verner, passed away in Tampa.
“With a heavy heart, we sadly report the loss of our beloved father, husband, grandpa and friend, Robert Lee Verner,” Verner said it a statement issued by the team.
“We are thankful for his love and support. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. He will forever be cherished and missed.
