TAMPA — Three of Bus coach Lovie Smith's former players are joining the staff for training camp, including ex-Bucs linebacker Alshermond Singleton, who is on a Bill Walsh NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship.
Singleton, 39, played for the Bucs from 1997-2002 and was on their 2002 Super Bowl championship team. He played under Smith when Smith was a Bucs assistant from 1996-2000.
The other two former Smith players were with him with the Bears. Ex-receiver Johnny Knox, 28, caught 12 touchdown passes for the Bears from 2009-11. He is also on a Walsh fellowship. Ex-defensive end Mark Anderson, 32, had 12 sacks as a rookie on Smith's Super Bowl team in 2006.
