The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Friday that they’ve placed QB Sean Renfree on waivers to make room for Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was signed to a one-year contract this morning.
Renfree, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Falcons back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.206 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season when the Falcons cut him loose in August of last year.
Renfree wound up sitting out the entire 2016 season before he signed a future/reserve contract with the Buccaneers this past January.
