This is unexpected: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just waived cornerback Jude Adjei-Barimah with an injury designation, and re-signed longsnapper Andrew DePaola to take his place.
Adjei-Barimah stood out the last two years after entering the league as an undrafted free agent. He was never outstanding, but looked promising and like a potential future starter. A four-game suspension for violating the PED policy at the end of last season probably didn’t help him, though, and neither did the team’s depth at cornerback.
Adjei-Barimah played 23 games in the past two seasons with eight starts, though he got significant playing time in almost all of them as the team’s primary slot cornerback.
