Barring any snags, former Redskins defensive lineman Chris Baker is expected to sign with the Buccaneers, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine.
The 29-year-old Baker, who recorded 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2016, took some time to rise through the NFL ranks before he could make an impact.
He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Broncos in 2009 and then was on the Dolphins' practice squad before joining the Redskins in 2011. One season later, Baker became a regular contributor, appearing in 14 games.
After starting 12 games in 2014, Baker had a breakout year in 2015, finishing with a career-best six sacks and three forced fumbles.
