The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have signed defensive back Akeem Davis and center Ben Gottschalk to the practice squad. There was a spot available due to offensive lineman Ryan Groy signing on another team’s active roster.
Davis (6-1, 200) re-joins the team, after having spent Week 10 on the Buccaneers’ practice squad. In his second NFL season, Davis has played in 15 career games, notching one tackle, one forced fumble and 12 special teams tackles. He originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Washington Redskins in 2014, spending the season between the team’s practice squad and active roster.
