The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed quarterback Sean Renfree to a futures contract, the team announced today. The imminent signing had been reported a couple weeks ago, but apparently it took a while to finalize.
Renfree entered the league as a seventh-round pick for the Atlanta Falcons in 2013, backing up Matt Ryan for three seasons, two of which he played under then offensive coordinator and now Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter.
Renfree’s thrown seven passes for 11 yards and an interception in his career, starting no games and playing in two.
