The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed kicker Brandon Bogotay, the team has announced. Bogotay was an undrafted free agent in 2013, spending that offseason with the Cleveland Browns but never playing in the NFL. He was at the Bucs' rookie minicamp as a tryout player, where he apparently impressed enough to earn a roster spot.
The Bucs waived second-year center Ben Gottschalk to make room for the kicker.
Bogotay will compete with Patrick Murray, who was impressive last year as a second-year kicker, making 20 of 24 field goals including a 55-yarder after beating out veteran Connor Barth in training camp.
