Buccaneers release Vinny Curry

For the second time in two years defensive end Vinny Curry finds himself on the open market earlier than he likely expected after the Buccaneers officially released the seven-year veteran on Tuesday.

After being released last off-season by the Super Bowl winning Philadelphia Eagles, Curry signed a three-year deal with the Bucs in an off-season focused on bolstering the defensive line.

In his one year with the Bucs, Curry totaled 2.5 sacks and 21 tackles in twelve games played while being credited with seven starts.

As the year waned on, injury to Curry along with the impressive play by pre-season acquisition Carl Nassib contributed to the veteran’s less than stellar contributions.
