The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will place wide receiver Louis Murphy on injured reserve (technically Physically Unable to Perform/reserve), head coach Dirk Koetter said today.
The Bucs lost Murphy to an ACL injury last season, and he hasn’t really recovered from that injury. He returned to practice a few weeks ago, but suffered an unrelated setback. Because he returned to practice at the time, the Bucs had to make a decision on his future today: either put him on reserve, meaning he’s out for the year, or add him to the 53-man roster.
The Bucs signed former Philadelphia Eagles receiver Josh Huff to the practice squad today, probably in part to replace Murphy, who now goes on injured reserve.
