The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted wide receiver Evan Spencer to the active roster from the practice squad, the team announced. The move comes days after waiving linebacker Orie Lemon for what seems like the 564th time this year.
Promoting Spencer is probably bad news for Vincent Jackson, who suffered an MCL sprain two weeks ago and is likely to miss the rest of the season. The Bucs have been relying on Donteea Dye and Adam Humphries behind Mike Evans, and that hasn't gone fluidly -- Dye in particular has struggled to catch the ball, though he's also showcased his explosive ability.
