The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted wide receiver Josh Huff to the active roster, placing Cecil Shorts on injured reserve. Shorts tore basically every ligament in his right knee last Sunday after starting four games as Vincent Jackson’s main replacement.
With Shorts on injured reserve and Adam Humphries in the concussion protocol, the Bucs can use all the help they can get at wide receiver.
Huff joined the Bucs from the Philadelphia Eagles, who cut him after he was arrested for DUI and unlawful possession of a firearm. Those charges apparently didn’t bother the Bucs, who signed him to their practice squad and now their active roster.
