The Tampa Bay Buccaneers keep placing players on injured reserve. They started with tight end Cameron Brate and cornerback Jude Adjei-Barimah yesterday, and they just announced that backup running back Charles Sims is heading for IR as well.
All three players have short-term injuries that shouldn’t impact beyond this week, but given that this is the final week of the season, there’s no real downside to placing them on injured reserve. Unless the Bucs miraculously make it to the playoffs, in which case they’ll all be kicking themselves.
The Bucs promoted fullback Austin Johnson to the active roster to take Sims’ place, though they still have another unfilled roster spot as well.
