Buccaneers not expected to sign Riley Cooper

It looks like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won’t sign veteran wide receiver Riley Cooper, who participated as a tryout player in their rookie minicamp this week. That’s per the Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud, who says the Bucs are “not expected” to sign him—reporter code for “not gonna happen”.

Cooper played six years for the Philadelphia Eagles, racking up 2,418 yards on 169 catches. He spent the last season out of football, though, and he’s best known for once getting caught on video shouting the n-word at a concert which doesn’t exactly help him.
