TAMPA, Fla. -- A few thoughts on Northwestern fullback Dan Vitale, taken at No. 197 overall as the second of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' two sixth-round selections.
My take: The Bucs needed a fullback. They didn’t have one on the roster before Saturday, and Vitale fills that void. At 6-foot-1, 239 pounds, he offers versatility, and that will be a good thing as the Bucs’ offense develops in its second year with Jameis Winston behind center. It will be interesting to see how Tampa Bay coaches devise ways to use Vitale.
