Buccaneers hire Broncos' John Spytek to be director of player personnel

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hiring John Spytek to be their new director of player personnel, Rick Stroud reports, quickly confirmed by 9News reporter Mike Klis. Spytek will replace Jon Robinson, who was hired as the Tennessee Titans' general manager. Update: The Bucs have confirmed the hire.

Spytek was a national scout for the Denver Broncos the past two seasons, and has been in the NFL in the personnel department since 2005. He started as an intern for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005, become a college/pro scout in 2007 and was hired as the Cleveland Browns' director of college scouting in 2010, where he stayed in that role until 2013 when the Browns hired Michael Lombardi to overhaul the personnel department, only to fire him a year later.
