The Tampa Bay Buccaneers escaped major injury news Sunday during their 20-16 win against the Lions.
Defensive tackle Vita Vea left the game early due to a leg injury, an injury where a teammate accidentally landed on his right knee during a Lions pass attempt. Vea was seen with a knee brace following the victory, and on Monday head coach Todd Bowles talked about the injury to his star player that anchors the defensive front.
“Yeah, he has an MCL sprain, grade two,” Bowles said when asked about an update on Vea. “Right now, he’s day-to-day, but not ruled out.
