The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have already cut their first 2016 NFL draft pick: sixth-round fullback Dan Vitale has not made the team, according to Greg Auman. Instead, the team will be keeping undrafted fullback/tight end Alan Cross.
Vitale did very little to stand out this preseason or throughout the offseason -- but then, neither did Cross, who played his college football at Memphis. The Bucs will likely use Luke Stocker as a hybrid fullback/tight end as well, as they did last year.
As with Joey Iosefa last year, this is another good example as to why you don't spend draft picks on fullbacks.
