Buccaneers awarded 6th-Round compensatory pick in 2021 NFL Draft

The NFL has decided getting Tom Brady and winning Super Bowl 55 wasn’t quite enough to make up for the losses of their 2020 free-agents who signed elsewhere. Because of this, the team has been awarded a compensatory draft pick in the sixth-round of the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft.

The Super Bowl win doesn’t actually factor into the awarding of compensatory picks. Instead, “Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. The formula was developed by the NFL management council. Not every free agent lost or signed by a club is covered by this formula.
