The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed linebacker Shaheed Salmon and wide receiver Thomas Sperbeck.
Salmon (6-2, 232) is a Tampa native who played collegiately at Samford and participated in last weekend’s Rookie Mini-Camp. During his time with the Bulldogs, Salmon played in 44 games, totaling 274 tackles (40 for loss), nine passes defensed, 8.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. As a senior in 2017, Salmon was named first-team All-Southern Conference and earned third-team STATS FCS All-American Honors.
Sperbeck (6-0, 187), who spent time with the Buccaneers last offseason, originally entered the league as a college free agent out of Boise State, where he played in 48 games, catching 224 passes for 3,601 yards and 20 touchdowns.
