The Tampa Bay Buccaneers must cut their roster to 53 by 4 p.m. ET Saturday, Sept. 1. Here's a final 53-man roster projection:
Winston's three-week suspension to start the season doesn't count against the 53-man roster, allowing the Bucs to carry a sixth receiver. Even when Winston returns, the Bucs are expected to carry a third quarterback (Griffin), who the team believes can inherit Fitzpatrick's backup role in the future.
With the Bucs placing Charles Sims on injured reserve, that opens the door for Wilson to stay. Wilson's performance in camp -- particularly what he showed with his hands and his special teams ability -- might have already been enough to secure a spot.
