Brent Grimes leaves Bucs-Chiefs with quad injury

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lose a player to injury every single week. This week it came after just one drive: cornerback Brent Grimes has left the game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a quad injury and is questionable to return.

Alterraun Verner has taken his place, which will be interesting to see. Verner was benched early this season in favor of slot cornerback Jude Adjei-Barimah, after Verner seemed to make a few mental mistakes leading to busted coverages. The former Pro Bowler is undeniably talented, but hasn’t played up to that in recent years.

If Grimes can’t return, the Bucs will have some issues covering the Chiefs receivers, but not too many: Jeremy Maclin is out, and they really have no other receivers worth paying attention to.
