Bowles praises rookie edge Braswell

The lack of pass rush on the edges for the Buccaneers has created issues each of the last two seasons, but there’s hope for improvement.

It primarily starts with giving a bigger role to 2022 rookie breakout YaYa Diaby, who led the team in sacks with 7.5 and started off camp with a bang before a scary-looking injury sidelined him for at least a month. There’s optimism for Diaby’s clean bill of health to arrive by Week 1, but in the meantime his absence has opened other opportunities for players to shine.

Enter this year’s second-rounder, Alabama edge rusher Chris Braswell.
