NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and Oklahoma Sooners alum Baker Mayfield said Sunday that he was glad he could occupy the attention of Texas Longhorns players and fans despite having not played in a game against them since 2017.
Texas linebackers Anthony Hill Jr. and Barryn Sorrell planted a Longhorns flag on his No. 6 college jersey at midfield after defeating the Sooners 34-3 in the annual Red River Rivalry game Saturday. Hill also posed for a photo in the locker room with Mayfield's jersey, which had a large hole slashed through the middle.
