As Bucs end season, plenty of good, bad and ugly to go around

When the dust settles from this Bucs season, six wins and a franchise quarterback might pass for improvement.

The problem is all the dust, what with three straight collapses after Lovie Smith, Jameis Winston and the Bucs reached the cusp of relevance. Fool’s gold. There’s sure to be more dust today in Charlotte, when the Bucs end their season against 14-1 Carolina. This could get ugly.

There has been good news and bad news this Bucs season.

Bad news: The opener against Tennessee, when Marcus Mariota — the other quarterback — went crazy and Winston threw a “pick six” on his first NFL pass as the Titans crushed the Bucs 42-14.
