Better late than never. On Wednesday evening, Ali Marpet became the last rookie in this year’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers class to sign with the team. At the moment, specifics regarding money are unknown, however, multiple reports have indicated that the contract is a four-year deal, the same amount of years as fellow Bucs second-round pick Donovan Smith.
While there was little concern about the former Hobart guard/center working out a deal with the rookie pay scale already in place, it’s good to have that piece of business out of the way. Now, Marpet can focus on getting better through OTAs, minicamp and training camp, and making a case for being the Buccaneers’ starting right guard by Week 1.
