Born in Miami, Florida, Davis went to Miami Norland Senior High School and was the MVP of the Chick-fil-A Battle of the Borders game. He was ranked as one of the top 25 prospects in the state of Florida coming out of high school according to Rivals.com and also ran track for Miami Norland.

Davis started as a true freshman in 2015. He recorded 56 total tackles with 11 passes defensed and three interceptions that year. He started all 13 games for the Tigers in 2017 as a junior and finished his Auburn career with 138 total tackles, 33 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four interceptions across three seasons.
