5 Takeaways from First Open OTA

1. We saw a preliminary starting defense.
For the first time this offseason, the Buccaneers defense lined up together as a unit. The first group had George Johnson and Jacquies Smith at end, Gerald McCoy and Clint McDonald at tackle, Lavonte David and Danny Lansanah at linebacker, Alterraun Verner and Johnthan Banks at corner, Chris Conte and Major Wright at safety with Sterling Moore and Isaiah Frey each playing nickel.

2. No rookies worked with the first offensive line.
Second-round picks Donovan Smith and Ali Marpet were not working with the first team on Thursday.
