Syracuse, N.Y. -- The third-most contested rivalry in Division I men's lacrosse will move to the postseason spotlight when No. 8 Cornell visits No. 11 Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night in the Carrier Dome.
This will be the 106th meeting between the schools. Ivy League champion Cornell (12-4) took the most recent showdown, beating Syracuse (8-6) earlier this season 13-8.
Syracuse has played Cornell three times in the NCAA tournament, most recently in the 2009 championship game, where the Orange came away victorious for the team's 11th national title. Syracuse also defeated the Big Red for the 1988 title and lost in the semifinals in 1987 to Cornell.
