Ithaca, N.Y. --Cortland traveled about 30 minutes Saturday evening to face neighboring Cornell in an exhibition game in Newman Arena.
The game won't count for anything except to satisfy some curiosity. Because in that game, Jimmy Boeheim unofficially made his Cornell debut, less than one week before he and his Big Red teammates visit the Carrier Dome for Syracuse's basketball opener. And Zach Lydon, the older brother of former Orange forward Tyler Lydon, played for Cortland's Red Dragons.
Cornell cruised to a 96-70 win.
Here's what happened:
-Jimmy Boeheim, who is listed at 6-foot-8 (he told me on Friday he is a shade shorter than that), started for the Big Red.
