Storrs, Conn. -- The Connecticut women's basketball team got a nice little backyard warmup in on Saturday, dismantling Albany 116-55 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Gampel Pavilion.
The win kicks off the Huskies' drive for a fifth-straight national title and extended their winning streak to 108 games.
Up next: Syracuse or Iowa State. The No. 8 Orange and the No. 9 Cyclones square off in a 1:30 p.m. contest on the same court.
That second-round game will be played Monday. The time will be set after all of Saturday's action is over.
