Tallahassee, Fla. -- When Tyus Battle doesn't score, the Syracuse men's basketball team usually doesn't either.
For 20 minutes on Saturday, Battle and the Orange offense spun its wheels during a 101-90 double-overtime defeat to Florida State on Saturday. But by the time it was over, Battle had put on an impressive display of will, nearly helping the Orange overcome a Top 25 opponent, a road crowd and the dismissal of three of his teammates due to foul trouble.
Battle scored 37 points against the Seminoles, tying for 18th place on SU's all-time single-game scoring list, joining Demetris Nichols and Preston Shumpert.
