Syracuse, N.Y. -- Tyler Ennis battled foul trouble, but his Canadian team won its first game of pool play in the FIBA Olympic Qualifier in the Philippines.

In the second game, Tony Parker-led France defeated the Andray Blatche-led Philippines 93-84.

Ennis, the former Syracuse point guard who now plays for the Milwaukee Bucks, scored six points, had three rebounds and two assists in Canada's 77-69 defeat of Turkey. Canada took 10 fewer free throws than Turkey, but still managed to outscore Turkey 20-19 at the line. Ennis is the team's starting point guard.
