The elephant in the room: Syracuse football’s tight ends

Sterlin Gilbert had been a college offensive coordinator for five programs over seven years before taking the McNeese State head coaching job in 2019. Before joining the Syracuse Orange, he was the offensive coordinator for Dino Babers over three years. Babers clearly trusts Gilbert to conduct his high-tempo offensive to the fullest of its abilities.

However, Syracuse fans haven’t been the most impressed with the style of football that the offense has been running in 2020. The fast tempo and speed that defined the Orange offense during the first years under Babers have seemingly slowed down.
