Syracuse, N.Y. – When Taurean Thompson finished weighing his college prospects last summer, he chose Syracuse over Michigan State and Seton Hall because his "gut" told him the Orange was the best destination for his basketball ability.
He was told he would play power forward and center at SU. He knew how crowded the Orange frontcourt would be: Seniors Dajuan Coleman and Tyler Roberson. Transfer Paschal Chukwu would play in 2016-17 after sitting out an NCAA mandated transfer year. And Tyler Lydon had logged 30 minutes a game as a Syracuse freshman.
None of those details daunted Thompson.
