WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Syracuse kicker Andre Szmyt has been named one of the three finalists for the 2018 Lou Groza Award presented by the Orange Bowl. The names of the finalists were released today by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.
Presented annually since 1992 and named for Pro Football Hall of Famer Lou "The Toe" Groza, the award honors the nation's most outstanding placekicker. Szmyt is the first Syracuse kicker to be selected as a Groza finalist.
Joining Szmyt as finalists for this year's award are Cole Tracy of LSU and Wyoming's Cooper Rothe.
