Syracuse’s Sydney O’Hara named top-10 finalist for USA Softball Player of the Year

Before the Syracuse Orange take the field on Thursday in the ACC Tournament, the softball team does get some great news.

Sydney O’Hara has been named a top-10 finalist by USA Softball for the Player of the Year award. She’s one of three ACC players to make the list, along with Florida State’s Jessica Burroughs and Jessica Warren.

O’Hara, a senior, has had a record-setting campaign for the Orange this year. She currently leads the nation with a .480 batting average and .629 on-base percentage. She’s hit nine home runs, accounted for 42 RBIs and also scored 37 runs.
