Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football head coach Dino Babers was hesitant to discuss the state of his sport in the wake of a Maryland player dying this summer and an ESPN.com report about the "toxic culture" that surrounded the UMD program.
Speaking with media after practice on Tuesday, Babers was asked how extreme he felt the Maryland situation was, as reported, and how he and SU strength and conditioning coach Sean Edinger approach that aspect of their jobs in Central New York:
"I don't know about how extreme it is everywhere else because I only know how we do it here," Babers said before declining to talk about the cultures at the 14 other programs that previously employed him.
