Syracuse, N.Y. -- Andrew White owns one of the best jump shots in college basketball. He's making 3-pointers at a record pace for the Syracuse Orange this season.

And it all started by not taking 3-pointers when he was a kid.

"I was a jump shooter (in high school), but I didn't shoot many threes,'' White said. "I was a mid-range specialist all the way until the beginning of my senior year.''

White didn't take many 3-pointers in high school because his father wouldn't let him. Andy White wanted his son to develop the proper shooting motion.
