Syracuse, N.Y. — No. 3 Syracuse opened the season with a pair of victories in the Carrier Dome on Sunday.
Senior Kayla Treanor scored four goals and set a single-game school record for draw controls in the Orange's season-opening 17-6 win against No. 13/12 Loyola. In the second game of the doubleheader, Syracuse defeated Binghamton, 9-6.
"It was a great day for Syracuse lacrosse to get out there and start our 2016 season," Syracuse head coach Gary Gait said. "I thought we prepared well (for Loyola) and were ready to execute our game plan. Our defense played well and our offense played well.
