The No. 10/12 Syracuse women's lacrosse team's attempt to come back from a five-goal second-half deficit came up short as No. 13/11 Northwestern defeated the Orange, 14-10, in Evanston, Ill. on Monday.
Junior Nicole Levy led the Syracuse offense with four goals and an assist for five points. It marks the second consecutive game in which Levy has scored four goals.
She has 14 goals in her last four games and leads the squad in points (34) and is second in goals (27). Sheila Nesselbush had five goals and six assists to lead Northwestern.
Syracuse (6-4) tallied the first three goals of the game to jump out to an early lead.
