Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse women's lacrosse coach Gary Gait said on Thursday that he supports proposed NCAA legislation establishing age limits for the recruitment of athletes.
But until such rules are adapted and implemented, he's going to recruit to what the rules allow.
Gait addressed the issue at his team's first media availability of the season. The coach and his program were nudged into the bulls-eye of the issue earlier this month when Caitlyn Wurzburger, a lacrosse player in Delray Beach, Fla., announced a verbal commitment to the school as an eighth-grader.
