Syracuse, N.Y. -- Forward Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi posted 19 points and eight rebounds to help the Syracuse women's basketball team shake off Bucknell 70-56 on Sunday in the Carrier Dome.
Point guard Tiana Mangakahia added 13 points for SU. The No. 18 Orange improved to 3-1 with the win.
Pesky Bucknell hung around within striking distance for most of the game, and drew within 49-48 with 1:44 left in the third. But Kadiatou Sissoko hit a free throw for Syracuse, and Djaldi-Tabdi dropped home two more for a 52-48 Orange cushion. Mangakahia closed the quarter with a jumper for a six-point SU lead.
